THE LAMPLIGHTER'S LEAGUE

UI/UX

The game is set in an alternate 1930's, and the UI is meant to work with that setting. We present a "Pulp-Adventure" theme with the UI, giving a sense of globe trotting and exploration. Many UI panels are meant to appear as physical artifacts, journal entries, maps, photographs, etc. to give a tactile component to the style.

This project had many different feautures and systems which all needed to be communicated to the player. One of the greatest challenges through the development was with so many deep and varied systems, there was a constant push/pull of how much information we could/should show the player at any given moment. For this it was important to rely on consistent visual language to help reduce the overall footprint of the UI where possible, or allow elements to fade from the primary focus to let the player stay focused on the world they were exploring.
